Sashimi Royal is a Danish aquaculture company with solid investors and grant support from the Danish government. We are currently building the World´s largest onshore grow-out facility for Yellowtail Kingfish in Hanstholm, Denmark. The facility is vertically integrated with the fish fry facility Maximus. Team lead for live feed department at marine hatchery Maximus A/S

Maximus A/S is looking for a dedicated team lead to join our live feed team. The team currently consists of 5 full time employees as well as youth workers, all with reference to the production manager. Collaboration and coordination with other departments is an essential part of the job.

Primary tasks: Lead, share and distribute the work of your team

• Perform operational routines – daily check of measurements, sampling and analyzes
• Purchases for the daily operation
• Participation in the duty rotor within the live feed team

We expect that you have a lot of experience and competencies from a similar operation and have the capacity to work structured as well as adjust yourself to varying assignments with emphasis on the above.

About Maximus A/S:

Maximus A/S is a marine hatchery situated next to the Limfjord, near Bedsted Thy. Maximus is a sister company of Sashimi Royal, located in Hanstholm, and supplies only fry for this.

The plant consists of 3,000 m2 indoor production and 35,000 m3 outdoor tanks. Maximus handles the entire process from motherfish – egg – larvae – herring fish.

Unique management opportunity at RAS farm

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced site manager for our fish farm Sashimi Royal, Denmark that will be producing 1200 tons of Yellowtail per year from 2017.

The position involves overall management and P&L responsibility for operations at the farm. The position reports to the group CEO. The position involves hands-on management in operations, development of team performance and most importantly care for our fish.
Candidates must have a minimum of 5-6 years documented management experience in fish farming, preferably with larger scale RAS production. A formal academic background is required in a directly relevant field. In addition to practical operations experience, we emphasize leadership-, basic financial- and administration skills. Candidates must be proficient in both oral and written English at a professional level. Exceptions can be made depending on overall candidate experience.

We are seeking a candidate that is highly structured, who is a proficient problem solver and who is committed to quality. Candidates must demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism.

Work location is Hanstholm, Denmark. The region offers reasonable housing costs and a beautiful coastline.

Cutting edge RAS facility seeking production staff

We are seeking experienced production staff to join our team in Sashimi Royal in Denmark. The production team will be involved in a range of activities related to the daily operation of our facility and maintenance of fish welfare for our Yellowtail kIngfish species.

Experience from RAS facilities is an advantage, but we will consider candidates with practical experience from various aquaculture backgrounds. Documented experience from the aquaculture industry is a requirement. Academic background from aquaculture or marine biology is beneficial, but not an absolute requirement.

In Sashimi Royal we focus on building good teams and delivering results. Candidates must be structured, attentive, dependable and good communicators.The work location is Hanstholm, Denmark. The region offers reasonable housing costs and a beautiful coastline.

Construction update Sashimi Royal

Construction of Sashimi Royal in Denmark is approaching is final construction stage. The complete structure for the largest grow-out tank every built for is now in place. In the coming weeks the remaining building structure and installations will be completed. Sashimi Royal is on track for production start over new years and for introduction of the first yellowtail kingfish every produced in the Nordics.

At Maximus we are pleased to confirm that the fingerlings from our first spawning tests are growing according to plan. They have doubled in size every week. The video shows our fingerlings hatched in late 2015. Volume production is set to start in late May.

The construction process at Sashimi Royal is on track with much of the groundwork and foundation work complete. When Shasimi Royal goes into production in 6-7 months it will be the largest land-based production facility for Yellowtail Kingfish in the world.

Sashimi Royal is on-track to start production in December 2016. We are currently in the process of completing groundwork at the Hanstholm site, with building construction to start in May.

Official construction start for Sashimi Royal

February 25th marked the official start of construction for our new facility, Sashimi Royal in Denmark. Danish environmental authorities and the mayor of Hanstholm were among the key participants of approximately 50 people.

Sashimi Royal is scheduled to start its production of Yellowtail Kingfish in December 2016. It will be an international pioneer in the large-scale commercial production of kingfish in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS)

Meanwhile, our fingerling facility Maximus is now increasing its capacity with the construction of a new and significantly larger broodstock facility for its kingfish. A total of four new broodstock tanks, each with its own independent RAS cycle, are being built. Construction will be complete in April.

Update on Yellowtail fry production

Maximus received its broodstock of Yellowtail Kingfish in April 2015.  The broodstock have been held in RAS units successfully for 9 months with low stress levels and good growth.

In August, 2015 conditions for test-spawning were established. We can announce that spawning started successfully in October 2015. The broodstock have produced at steady supply of fertilized eggs since then.

Producing healthy fingerlings from kingfish is a complex process requiring live feed and tailored rearing conditions. These pre-conditions have been developed at Maximus and its specialized infrastructure. The facility is under management of Dr Bent Urup and an experienced production team.

Maximus has now successfully produced several batches of kingfish fingerlings and is working to significantly increase its yield leading up to the start of production at the grow-out facility of Sashimi Royal, Hanstholm.

Update on Sashimi Royal

The financing of Sashimi Royal is now coming to a close. Shareholders Sustainable Seafood Invest and Nordic Aquafarms have so far financed development activities for both Sashimi Royal and its sister company Maximus.

Additional funding has now been confirmed from MUPD and Natur/Erverv (EU) government sources. With bank financing to be finalized in January 2016, we are ready to move forward toward construction start of Sashimi Royal in March 2016.

Sashimi Royal is expected to start production around year-end 2016.
